Christiane F. is a 13-year-old girl who lives with her mother and sister in a run-down neighborhood in Berlin. To deal with her family problems, she starts smoking hash and taking trips. But soon she moves on to harder drugs and gets hooked on heroin. She goes to school in the morning and hangs out at the Zoo station in the afternoons to make money for her habit. Christiane gets sucked into a world of drugs and prostitution. Instead of finding freedom, she finds herself trapped in a cycle of decay and death that even claims some of her closest friends.
